4th Of July: Kaepernick Rejects Celebration Of White Supremacy!: Happy Fourth of July? Not really, Well, this year’s Fourth of July celebrations are tarnished because of the global pandemic. However, people are still making the most of it by staying quarantined and celebrating indoors!
Nonetheless, our former NFL star and activist Colin Kaepernick does not feel the need to celebrate this year’s independence day because the government attempted to inflict police brutality.
4th Of July: Kaepernick Rejects Celebration Of White Supremacy!
Kaepernick struck the 4th of July by sharing a video with Fredrick Douglass‘ historic speech on racism in America. The video shows photos and videos from the Declaration of Independence, slaves, Ku Klux Klan members, lynching and police brutality as James Earl Jones gives a voiceover.
The voice at the back narrates,
“Fellow-citizens, pardon me, allow me to ask why am I called upon to speak here today? What have I, or those I represent, to do with your national independence? Are the great principles of political freedom and of natural justice, embodied in that Declaration of Independence, extended to us?”
Reject The Supremacy!
Colin Kaepernick has bluntly disagreed to celebrate America’s Independence Day. Colin’s decision to not celebrate the 4th of July instigated because of the recent protests in the States.
As black lives matter protests urge in the US, the country has resumed discussions of race, gender, inequality, slavery and American history.
In the above photo, you can see that Kaepernick gave his brutal views on why the 4th of July is the celebration of white supremacy over blacks. He called out America over ‘centuries of slavery and hatred.’
Previously in 2016, the 32-year-old started kneeling during the National Anthem before his NFL games. Colin is a proud ‘black’ and continues to call out the racist Americans on their behaviour.
America Was Never Great?
Let’s be real America has always been a racist country. Over the few years, people, wait, ‘White People’ have come to terms with the fact that racism is bigotry.
Colin has been an outspoken activist against racial discrimination. He is vocal about his dislike for the ‘racist’ President Trump. Kaepernick’s passionate reply to the racism gave netizens a chance to reflect on themselves and their mistakes.
