Colorado Couple: On August 14, a couple, named Joseph and Joceline Roland went to the Southlands Mall to buy a 2017 Toyota Rav4. They saw this car listed on the Letgo app by a man named James Worthy.
Upon their arrival, the couple met an 18-year old boy Kyree Brown. Brown told them he had accidentally brought the wrong vehicle title. Brown informed them that the car was stolen a few days earlier. According to the police, Brown allegedly convinced the couple to follow him to his apartment, according to an arrest affidavit.
In his apartment, he supposedly robbed the couple at gunpoint and fired, when their vehicle began to move forward. Brown confessed to having shot Joseph, but Jossline was shot by accident.
After the shooting, Brown stole all the cash from them and took off from that place.
The couple were immediately transported to the hospital after they were found. They were declared dead five minutes apart from each other.
Few days after this incident, Brown listed the car for sale again, under the name of Jessica Harlan.
On August 27, the police arrested Brown.
Colorado Couple: A GOFUNDME PAGE FOR THE CHILDREN’S FINANCIAL SECURITY
The couple had five children. They started a GoFundMe page for the children.
Brittany Southerland, an organizer of this GoFundMe page, wrote, they have five children who need our help. Everyone who knew Joseph and Joceline knows how generous and kind they were. Always the first ones to help, anyone in need. They were the best people one can ever meet.
Now it’s our turn to help their children, no amount of money can replace what they’ve lost but, maybe through this, we can provide some financial security for them.
Brown was charged with two counts of first-degree murder. It is still unclear whether he has entered a plea or has an attorney to comment on his behalf.
