Cameron Boyce passed away in July 2019 at the age of 20 due to an ‘ongoing medical condition.’ He starred alongside Adam Sandler in Grown Ups.
This new horror-comedy got released in the perfect time of year, as Halloween comes near. And viewers who sat through the credits noticed an emotional nod to the late actor.
In the middle of the credit scenes, the tribute appeared in a reel with a child actor’s photo. The words said: “In loving memory of Cameron Boyce. Gone way too soon, and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day.”
In an interview with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Sandler said:
“That kid was a great kid. His family is amazing. I watched him grow up and become a superstar. My kids worshipped him. He came to my daughter’s bar mitzvah. He came and signed- I mean, that bar mitzvah was gigantic, there were 400 people there, and he signed every kid’s autograph.”
On his death day on July 6th, 2019, Boyce’s parents wrote:
“It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron. He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure, which was the result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.”
