Android 11 Developer Preview 4 Is Launched Now, Pushing The Release Of The First Public Beta To June 3, 2020!

Back in Feb, this year Google announced to launch the first Android 11 Developer Preview. The Display Preview 1 released earlier this year. Google wants developers to have more and more time to adapt to new APIs and platform behaviours. Other displays, DP 2 and DP 3 planned to release soon after the DP1.

But due to Corona Pandemic, the release of the Android 11 Beta on Google I/O event on 12 -14 May delayed. Google has planned an online event #Android 11: The Beta Launch Show on 3rd June 2020. the show will release the final SDK and APIs for Android 11 Beta 1. Initially, Google charted its plan to release three Android 11 Developer Preview. The release of Beta 1 delayed but it’s releasing Developer Preview 4 to fulfil the gap. The Developer Preview 4 build to download for Google Pixel 2/2 XL, Pixel 3/3 XL, Pixel 3a/3a XL, and Pixel 4/4 XL.

Along with Android 11 Beta 1 delayed by a month, Beta 2’s release also delayed to July instead of June. The Flame Group confirmed in the blog post, ” the ‘Final Release Candidate’, which is most likely the Beta 2, will release on 6th July”. Beta 2 is the release for ‘Platform Stability’ whereas the Beta 3 will be for building the ‘Release Candidate’. The Android 11 Beta 3 scheduled to release on Oct 2020. The final releases are spouse to available on Q3. So, the releases may not be delayed any further.

Google planning to host online talks and webinars on the topics about various subjects on the launch show. The topics are initially planned to discuss on Google I/O stage.
