Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt Latest Legal Fight
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt got divorced in 2017. Ever since then, the two never came together to share the red carpet. They even avoid every circumstance of a public meetup. However, their legal battle is not yet complete. There are still certain things that the two are fighting for. Most of it is related to their kids. In their latest legal battle, Angelina filed the documents to remove Judge John W. Ouderkirk as the judge looking into their divorce proceedings. It has been 3 years since their divorce and the two are still not able to come with a solution.
Why Is Angelina Jolie Trying To Remove The Judge
In 2017, Angelina and Brad appointed judge Ouderkirk to look after their divorce privately. Ironically, he was the same judge that got them married in 2014. According to the documents submitted in court, Angelina feels judge Ouderkirk has an inclination towards Brad. As per Angelina’s legal team, Ouderkirk shares a business relationship with the attorneys of Brad. This makes him biased towards Brad, and this can harm her personal divorce case.
What Does Brad Pitt Have To Say On Angelina Jolie’s Judge Removal Request
Brad Pitt, on the other hand, has not said anything personally. However, his legal team decided to respond to the claims. As per his legal team, Angelina is trying to unnecessarily create hurdles to delay the proceedings of the case. As per his legal team, “A thinly-veiled attempt by Jolie to delay the adjudication of long-pending custody issues in this case. The individuals hurt most by Jolie’s transparently tactical gambit are the parties’ own children. They continue to be deprived of a final resolution to these custody issues.”
Angelina Jolie’s Reply On Brad Pitt’s Allegations Of Delay In Proceedings
Angelina Jolie’s legal team also decided to hit back at Brad Pitt. They gave a staunch and straight forward reply. Her team said, “Any delay in these proceedings is due to [Pitt’s team’s] zealous attempt to create an unrecognized special exception for their client’s benefit.” Hopefully, their children are not getting ground in the middle of this mess.
