Over the years, Netflix has brought several teen dramas at our disposal. These include the likes of 13 Reasons Why, Riverdale, and Elite. Blood And Water debuted on Netflix on 20th May 2020. Since its release, the Netflix original South African drama has managed to become a huge success.
Blood and Water is a gripping story of a 16-year-old girl and the scandalous life in Cape Town, South Africa. She accidentally comes across a swimmer at a party, who she thinks is her long lost sister. After this encounter, she moves to Parkhurst College to find out the truth and prove that the swimmer is her sister who was abducted at birth.
With an IMDb rating of 6/10, the show has been a blow out hit. Despite being only 3 days since the release of the first season, the fans are already desperate for season 2.
Will There Be A Season 2?
The first season included 6 episodes of drama, controversy and shocking plot twists. However, the first season has left a lot of loose ends and unanswered questions. To untangle this situation, the show is likely to be renewed for a second season. When it comes to Netflix, history shows that the streaming giant is quick to renew shows from new regions.
What To Expect From Season 2?
Blood and Water is only the second South African series on Netflix after Queen Sono. The crime drama shows the journey of 16-year-old Puleng Khumalo. She crosses paths a party with someone who she thinks is her sister. In her quest to prove this, she transfers to Parkhurst College to search for her long lost sister.
It has been barely 3 days since the release of season 1. The first season was filled with drama, controversy and several plot twists. However, the show has left a lot of unanswered questions in the first season. Season 2 will pick up after the events of season 1. Although, the cast and crew behind Blood and Water are yet to reveal what will happen in season 2. The first season ends with Pulenge and Fikile finding out that they’re both sisters. So we expect season 2 will be all about how that affects the relationship and the people behind them
