The eight-book Artemis Fowl series was published almost two decades ago in 2001. Irish author Eoin Colfer write the series. It is known as twisted fairy tales. Where a young genius boy kidnaps a police officer from the underground world of the fairy world. Finally, Disney making a movie based on the book series.
Cast
The cast of the film is pretty big with well-known celebrities. Though the main characters of Artemis Fowl and Holly Short are newcomers. A young Irish actor Ferdia Shaw played the character Fowl, and Lara Mcdonnel played the role Short.

Also, the cast includes – Judi Dench as Commander Root, Josh Gad as the character Mulch Diggums, Nonso Anozie as Domovoi Butler, Nikesh Patel as Foaly. And also includes Miranda Raison as Angeline Fowl, Laurence Kinlan as Beachwood Short & the list goes on.
Patrick Doyle design the music for the movie. And Mr Colfler confirmed a walking cameo in the film.
Artemis Fowl: Release Date
The movie slated to release on Aug 9, 2020. But Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, it releases on May 29, 2020. But not on theatres, it debuts on Disney Plus. It will start streaming on June 12. The streaming will be in many countries like UK, US, Australia, Netherlands, Italy, Canada, Ireland, New Zeeland, and France.
Plot
Artemis Fowl is a 12-year-old boy. He lives in a mansion in Ireland with his bodyguard Butler. One day, his father goes missing with his wealth and his mother detached from reality. He tried to track down and discovering the existence of the underground fairy world. He did that through an alcoholic spirit of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Then he kidnaps LEP elite officer and fairy Holly Short. And there is a lot of ongoing around the incident.
The Director, Branagh, tried to keep the movie to 90-min long. Also, he started the film as “very rapid, very punchy and pacy”. He also mentions that the screenwriting of the book was also challenging.
