Eddie Van Halen’s Wife Pens Down Her Emotions After The Unexpected Death: The widow of Eddie Van Halen, Janie Liszewski, talked for the first time in an emotional post about his tragic death. Devastated Janie said that after her husband sadly lost his ten-year battle with cancer on Tuesday. Her heart and soul were ‘broken into a million pieces.’
Janie went to Instagram one day after she said farewell. She posted an open letter addressed to her rock star husband.
Janie, 50, said she ‘never knew it was possible to cry so many tears or feel such incredible sadness’.
Revealing her affectionate nicknames for Eddie, Janie said the letter was for ‘My husband, my love, my Peep.’
‘I never knew it was possible to cry so many tears or feel such incredible sadness. Our journey together has not always been an easy one but in the end and always we have a connection and love that will always be.
‘Saying goodbye is the hardest thing I have ever had to do so instead I say so long, I will see you again soon in a place with no pain or sorrow. Please watch over Kody and I. We love you and miss you so very much. Love, your PooPee.’
Eleven years ago, following his split from Valerie Bertinelli. Janie and Eddie tied the knot at the guitarist’s Studio City home.
Sharing The Happier Moments Together
In happier days, with their sandy toes pointing towards the ocean, the post was posted along with a photo of the pair at the beach.
The couple had been together for 13 years. They were inspired when Janie was hired in 2007 as the publicist for the Van Halen star.
Eddie popped the question a year after they met while on vacation in Hawaii, romance blossomed between the two.
In 2009, in the garden of Eddie’s sprawling Sudio City, California mansion, the pair then tied the knot. Janie’s son walked her down the aisle to When It was Love by Van Halen in 1988.
