Elizabeth Debicki To Play Princess Diana In The Crown Final Series

The Night Manager star Elizabeth Debicki is going to play the role of Princess Diana in the royal drama The Crown.

The series, on Monday, announced that the Australian actress will play the Princess of Wales in finals seasons.

Elizabeth Debicki will join the show to take over the role that Emma Corrin played before her. She will join Imelda Staunton and Jonathan Pryce for the last seasons five and six ofΒ  The Crown.

The official Twitter account of The Crown posted the statement of the actress. Elizabeth Debicki said, “Princess Diana’s spirit, her words and her actions live in the hearts of so many.

She also added, “It is my true privilege and honour to be joining this masterful series, which has had me absolutely hooked from episode one.”

Debicki is famous for playing roles in movies like The Great Gatsby and Guardian of the Galaxy Vol-2. She also acted in the famous British TV series The Night Manager alongside Tom Hiddleston.

Her most recent appearance was in Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway alongside Margot Robbie, a fellow Australian actress.

These final seasons of The Crown in which she will act are going to cover the events of the 1990s and early 2000s.

Final two seasons of The Crown will focus on Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ failed marriage and their separation; it will also show her death in 1997 and the subsequent crisis in the royal family.

The show will also cover the deaths of Queen mother and Princess Margaret in 2002. The show will also star Jonathan Pryce who will be playing Prince Philip, earlier played by Matt Smith and Tobias Menzies.

Lesley Manville is going to play Princess Margaret and Imelda Staunton will be playing Queen Elizabeth. These are going to be the last seasons of the show; the premiere date is not out yet.
