Fallout 76 Wastelanders
The infamous online version of Betout Fallout is getting the most significant expansion so far. When we first checked out Fallout 76 Wastelanders, at the end of 2018, we described it as a bad idea. We still think that this is entirely accurate. Yet Bethesda, at their recognition, did not abandon the game.
A continuous series of minor updates leads to Wastelanders, which addresses many of the original complaints. But there is a question that if the game starts as bad as Fallout 76, how can you expect a better output from it?
A Prequel To Other Bethesda Fallouts
This game is a prequel to other Bethesda Fallouts. It is a permanent multiplayer game in which you leave the treasury of post-apocalyptic survivors. This is done to create a new society in terms of infrastructure and administration.
All this sounds different from the Fallout standard. In practice, it translated into tedious download tasks, a terrible fight, and one of the most broken game. It has graphics mechanisms that we’ve ever seen at a full-price video game.
The Basic Design Is More Versatile Than Fallout 4
One of the elements of the original design that is not yet underdeveloped is the basic design. It is even more versatile than Fallout 4. The veterans have mastered to create incredibly impressive campsites. But luckily most of the bugs as well as broader games, are fixed – or at least reduced.
Fallout 76 Is A Serious Mistake
Without a better fight or mission, Fallout 76 is still a severe mistake. But at least it works quite reliably now and doesn’t seem to be an unfinished modem. Now it looks as the three-quarters of the finished mod by semi-competent.
However, this does not mean that it is error-free in any way. The frame rate can still sometimes slow down to indexing. But now, 18 months after the initial release, it behaves like a regular multiplayer game at the time of publication.
Wastelanders turns Fallout 76 from a technical and conceptual disaster into a simply flawed online experience. The game has a much better online community than it deserves.
The right characters and non-player companions are a world of difference. It is a large and generally well-designed game world.
Most of the original flaws of the game remain as it is. These include a terrible fight and flaccid survival elements. Most missions are still formal and repetitive. There are still some serious bugs and some outdated graphics.
