Ghislaine Maxwell Pleads Not Guilty & Is Denied Bail: Headlines about America’s sex offender, Jeffery Epstein, who committed suicide last year faded away amid the current situation. However, Epstein’s alleged accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell recently pleaded not guilty for helping him with the crime.
Let’s get into the details of this case.
Partners In Crime
Earlier this month, the officials arrested Ghislaine Maxwell for her role in Jeffery Epstein’s sex offender crime. She’s accused of helping Epstein ‘recruit, groom and ultimately abuse’ multiple girls, including one as young as 14. between 1991 and 1997.
During Maxwell’s hearing, she pled ‘not guilty’ for helping Jeffery Epstein. Jane Doe, a woman (probably a victim) opposed Maxwell’s bid to be freed from jail ahead of the trafficking. She said:
“Her sole purpose is self-preservation. She will never admit what she’s done. Without Ghislaine, Jeffery couldn’t have done what he did. She was in charge. She egged him on.”
Another victim named Annie Farmer described Maxwell as a ‘sexual predator’ that never showed any remorse.
The Court Denies Bail
Ghislaine Maxwell was Jeffery Epstein’s former girlfriend and helped him throughout his sexual abuses over two decades ago. After being caught in New Hampshire, the officials asked Maxwell to plead guilty for her crime as Epstein’s right hand.
However, when Maxwell pleads not guilty, the court decided on keeping Maxwell in the jail. Additionally, if the 58-year-old Maxwell is convicted, she will go in for 35 years.
On Monday, the prosecutors claimed that Maxwell went to various extents to flee from New Hampshire. Reports say that she wrapped her mobile phone in a tin foil while she hid in the internal room of her mansion.
Reportedly, Maxwell befriended victims and established a rapport with them. She then normalized ‘sexual abuse’ by undressing in front of them or talking about sexual topics.
Sometimes, Maxwell was also present during the abuse and she ‘helped put the victims at ease because an adult woman was present. Maxwell is charged with six counts, including perjury and enticing a minor to travel and engage in sex acts.
Maxwell also took part in the abuse but denied doing it when officials questioned her under oath in 2016. Regardless, Epstein and Maxwell did terrible crimes, and Maxwell should be punished for them!
