Health Officials In The USA Have Changed Their Minds About Face Masks!: With the crumbling economy and the surge of Coronavirus in the USA, half of the citizens are sitting unemployed at their homes, and half are dying off the virus.
However, with the daily meeting between the health boards, officials Dr Anthony Fauci and, Robert Redfield, the director of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention i-e CDC, have come up with solutions.
The New Plan
Moreover, with the staggering economy, the officials are planning on reopening the schools but with a mask, mandate to save the economy. Recently, CDC Director Robert Redfield said:
“If we all wore face coverings for the next four, six, eight or twelve weeks across the nation, the virus transmission would stop.”
However, our very own President Trump disagrees with the federal mask mandate. In a recent interview, he said:
“Dr Fauci said don’t wear a mask. Our surgeon general, the terrific guy, said don’t wear a mask. Everybody was saying don’t wear a mask. All of a sudden, everybody’s got to wear a mask. And as you know, masks cause problems too. With that being said, I am a believer in masks. I think masks are good.”
In recent months, scientists have learned lots of things about how easily the virus can spread into the public. Here are they:
- The virus can spread by talking or breathing. COVID is highly contagious. Without mitigation efforts like stay-at-home orders, each person with the virus infects an average of two or three people. That makes it twice as contagious as the flu.
- It’s easy to spread the coronavirus without any symptoms either from asymptomatic carriers or pre-symptomatic carriers.
- The virus has a long incubation period up to 14 days giving a wide window of opportunity for people to infect others before they even know they’re infected.
- Carriers may be most contagious in the 48 hours before they get symptoms, making transmission even more blind.
Why Did They Not Wear Masks?
During the early stages of the pandemic, scientists didn’t know how the virus was spreading. They had no idea about the time the infectious particles could linger in the air.
Moreover, there was a shortage of N95 masks, and some parts of the world were overwhelmed with COVID patients. But, in April, the health officials revised their citation and said that wearing a mask, is in fact safe.
