Dhoni Praises Batsman After Win Against SRH In IPL 2020

Chennai Super Kings were having a very disappointing IPL 2020 with their batsman failing to show aggressive and winning intent. In yesterday’s match against SRH, CSK came to bat first. However, this time they gave a fighting total of 167. Even Dhoni, who had criticised his batsmen, was happy about their performance. He said:

β€œWhat T20s have shown is that there are a few games that don’t go your way and then there are some that go your way even when you haven’t earned it. Today I felt we did a very good job even in the batting. There was some purpose with the bat and the batsmen assessed the situation very well.”

Dhoni Praises Sam Curran For All Round Performance Against SRH In IPL 2020

Dhoni was all praise for Sam who contributed with the bat as well as the ball. He made 31 runs from 20 balls and even took the wicket of SRH captain David Warner. Dhoni said, β€œSam Curran is a complete cricketer for us. It would be best if you had a seaming all-rounder, he plays the spinners well, and he can give us those 15-45 runs. A good left arm is always good to have on the side.”

Warner Feels SRH Needed An Extra Batsman Against CSK

David Warner thought that it was one of those days when they wanted an extra batsman, but they instead had an extra bowler in their team. He said:

β€œI think with our team and the depth that we have, we’re always going to be one short either way. It would have been nice to have an extra batter today, but you’ve got to weigh the pros and cons.”

Warner Looking Forward To Upcoming IPL 2020 Matches

David Warner’s team is in the middle of the scoreboard at the moment. However, he feels his team has a chance to playoffs if they beat the best in upcoming matches. He said:

β€œThings are always congested in the middle (of the points table). You have got to beat the best teams to make it to the top. We’ll be facing the top teams in the next few days, so I’m up for the challenge and so are the other guys.”
