David Warner Talks About His Bizarre Dismissal In His First IPL 2020 Match

David Warner was the first person to walk back to the pavilion, but his dismissal seemed a bit bizarre in his first IPL 2020 match. He was standing at the non-striker’s end when Umesh Yadav came on to bowl to Bairstow. Bairstow hit the ball straight, and Umesh Yadav tried to catch it. However, it touched his hand and hit the wicket on the non-striker’s end. Warner was out of the crease ready to rotate the strike, and he lost his wicket. Talking about it, he said:

β€œI can’t remember the last time I was out like that. There are four things that happened in this game that I have never seen before.”

Warner Gives An Update On Mitchell Marsh’s Injury

When SRH batting was collapsing, Mitchell Marsh was the only hope. However, he had heavily injured his leg and was not able to put pressure on it. However, Marsh still padded up and went for batting. Unfortunately, his injury got the better of him, and he got out trying to hit for a six. Warner gave an update on Marsh, and it is a matter of concern for SRH. He said:

β€œA lot of courage for Mitchell to go out there and try. It doesn’t look great for him, can’t put any weight on his leg. Hopefully, it isn’t too bad, it was quite painful for him, so fingers crossed.”

Warner Pinpoints Chahal’s Over As Reason For First IPL 2020 Loss

Warner also acknowledged the fact that Chahal’s over towards the end, that earned him two wickets proved to be crucial for SRH. He said:

β€œWe had the run chase in control and we knew that we had to go after their bowlers in the end. Probably the last over of Chahal was the turning point out there. We have to go back to the drawing board; we obviously can’t fix what happened today but we have to go back and work hard before our next game in Abu Dhabi.”
