Delhi Capitals Ride In On Prithvi Show Against CSK In IPL 2020
Delhi Capitals batted excellently in the second IPL 2020 match, and one person who truly stood out was the young Prithvi Shaw. On the very first ball of the inning, Prithvi gave an inside edge which was caught by MS Dhoni. However, no one heard any sound, and there was no appeal as well. After that, there was no stopping. He got ample support from the other end, first from Dhawan and then from Rishabh Pant. He finally got out for 64, but Pant and Iyer kept the show going. Delhi ended their inning at a total of 175 which looked like a challenging benchmark.
Chennai Super Kings Fail To Shine With The Bat
Chennai Super Kings started the inning, but they were never able to keep up with the tight bowling from Delhi. Delhi’s fielding was very disappointing as they dropped many vital catches. However, fortunately, it did not do much damage. The only person to click with the bat was Du Plessis. Other than him, Delhi ensures to get breaks at regular intervals. MS Dhoni was again rusty and did bat like he was looking for a win. Chennai eventually lost the match as they managed to score only 131 after 20 overs.
Shreyas Iyer Is Happy With The Good Start To IPL 2020
Delhi is the only team to win the first two matches of IPL 2020, and Shreyas Iyer did not deny that it was a great feeling to start on such a good note. He said:
“As a captain, it’s a nice feeling, when you start by winning your first two matches, it helps in giving you confidence and now we need to capitalize on the momentum, as a team, we have been doing fantastic off late. The more matches we win, the easier it will be for us in this year’s IPL.”
Dhoni Reveals Lack Of Steam In Batting As The Problem For Second IPL 2020 Loss
Dhoni understands that his team’s batting is no up to the mark and will look to solve that. He said:
“I don’t think it was a good game for us. There was no dew, but the wicket did slow down. We are lacking a bit of steam in batting and that hurts. The run-rate keeps on mounting after such slow starts and adds (to the) pressure. We need to figure that out.”
