KL Rahul Leads Punjab Batting From The Front Against RCB In IPL 2020
Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore locked horns yesterday in IPL 2020, and everyone was expecting RCB to dominate due to their recent win and dominance over Punjab in the past few seasons. However, things got one-sided when Punjab came to bat and shifted the momentum to their side. Their captain KL Rahul led from the front and hit 132. He was dropped twice by the RCB captain Virat Kohli who is an exceptional fielder. In the end, Punjab posted a whopping total of 206.
RCB Batting Succumbs To Pressure Against Punjab In IPL 2020
RCB’s batting was under pressure to hit for big runs in every other over. So most of the players lost their wickets trying to hit big shots. Within the first six or seven overs, half of the RCB batting lineup was back to the pavilion, and there was absolutely no hope for the team to bounce back. RCB badly lost the game in the end as they folded for just 109 runs.
Kohli Takes Responsibility For Defeat Against Punjab In 2020
Kohli dropped two catches of KL Rahul, and one was before he hit his hundred. He was probably the reason the team lost, and he took it like a captain. He said:
“I have to stand in front and take the brunt of it. Cost about 30-40 runs. If we’d restricted them at 180 we wouldn’t have felt pressure to go from ball one. There are days when you have these kinds of things happen. Just have to accept them. We’ve had a good game, we’ve had a bad game. Time to move on. We need to learn to plug those little mistakes. We did pretty well, especially closing in on the second time out and just after that.”
RCB To Take On MI In Their Next Game
RCB will look to forget this outing and focus on their next game which is against IPL giants MI. Even though Mumbai goes as the favourites, RCB will hope for Virat to click so that they can bounce back from this loss.
