Rohit Sharma Calls It A Great Win Against KXIP In IPL 2020

Rohit Sharma was delighted with the way his team won the match against KXIP in IPL 2020. It was mostly because all the department clicked together to give an all-round win to MI. Rohit who led from the front with a 70+ knock said:

β€œWas a great win. We didn’t start really well, but we knew, the kind of attack Punjab has, we wanted to capitalize on that towards the back end. Hardik and Pollard back themselves to get those runs in the end.”

Rohit Credits Pandya And Pollard For Death Over Firing Against KXIP

Pandya and Pollard made quick knocks to fire their team to a mammoth total of 191, and Rohit did not shy away from giving credit to them. Moreover, he said, β€œThey (Hardik and Pollard) have done that on many occasions. It is nice to have them in form. Overall very happy with the batting performances. We knew it wasn’t going to be easy with the ball. We knew taking early wickets was crucial. We did that.”  It was an excellent match for MI as they now look like the defending champions who are here to defend their title.

Rohit Sharma Reaches 5000 Runs In IPL 2020

With his knock against KXIP, Rohit completed 5000 runs in IPL which is a very rare feat. Up until then, only Kohli and Raina had reached 5000 runs. However, Rohit was not bothered about going that feat as he was only looking for a win which he eventually got. He said:

β€œThe captain looks good when the bowlers execute plans well. Feels good to get to 5000 runs. I didn’t look much into it. Winning the game was more important.”
