Steve Smith Gives Credit To Dhoni And Faf Du Plessis For Batting Well

Faf Du Plessis was probably the only hope for CSK to win the match. With Dhoni finding difficulty in timing the shots, Faf was hitting all over the ground. However, even he went back in the second last over. Just as Rajasthan had already won the game, Dhoni decided to go as near to the total as possible. So in the end, he hit three consecutive sixes to reach 200. Steve acknowledged their batting while also praising Archer of his team. He said:

β€œI think the last surge from Jofra was an incredible bit of hitting. Sanju Samson, looked like everything he hit went for six. MS (Dhoni) smacked a few in the end, and Faf (du Plessis) got going too, but nice to get a W in front of the RRs.”

Steve Smith Points Out His Bowling Plan Against Chennai In IPL 2020

Steve Smith gave credit to his bowlers as well who managed to keep the run rate high and ensured wickets. He said:

β€œIt was important for the bowlers to avoid straight hits, and it was important to make him hit the back of a length. The leg-spinners were very good with their lengths – good on them. Shreyas Gopal does what he does pretty well.”
