Oprah Winfrey is conducting a series of Zoom conversations as a part of an initiative to increase voter turnout. The name of the industry is OWN Your Vote, which specifically aims to encourage black women to come out in large numbers for choosing their president. During one such Zoom conversation, Oprah had a guest. It was none other than Democrat’s presidential nominee Joe Biden. Biden has been having talks with many celebrity stars like Jennifer Lopez, Dwayne Johnson, etc. to boost his election campaign for US election 2020.

Joe Biden recalled the time when Obama asked him to be his Vice-Presidential nominee. Most people would jump in on such an opportunity, but Biden initially rejected the offer. However, he thought he would be able to serve better as a Senator. He said in Zoom call with Oprah, “I told him I didn’t want to do it. This is public knowledge now. I could help him more as a U.S. senator.”
Joe Biden’s Mother Convinced Him To Contest As Vice-President In 2008
Joe Biden revealed that a conversation with his mother was the reason why he contested as Vice-President for the US election in 2008 alongside Obama. He said, “She said, ‘Joey, the first man in history who’s able to be elected president as an African American. He says that he needs you to win Pennsylvania and other states and you said to him ‘No’? I said, ‘Oh Mom, what are you doing to me?’ I said yes I would, and so I picked up the phone and called Barack, because my Mom, like you, wasn’t about to take no for an answer. It was about an obligation about what you are supposed to do.”

In the Zoom call, there was a 92-year-old lady who made her son drive 300 miles from Illinois to Michigan to cast her vote. Furthermore, Joe Biden was very impressed with it and called her the soul of America. Moreover, he said, “God love ya…I have said we are in a battle for the soul of America. You are the soul of America. You are everything we stand for.”
