Months earlier, LeBron James bit his lip as Kyrie Irving’s remarks on Kevin Durant’s podcast appeared to discredit. The Los Angeles Lakers Star’s late-game skills. Today, LeBron James has opened up about his former teammate’s podcast appearance. James, speaking as a guest on the Road Trippin podcast with Richard Jefferson, Channing Frye, and Allie Clifton, tackled Irving’s comments. Irving hailed Durant as the first teammate he could trust to take the game’s final shot—in an episode broadcast on Spectrum SportsNet on Monday.
The Brooklyn Nets Guard’s comments were disclosed in the debut episode of Durant’s podcast. “The Ethics,” just days before James and the Lakers faced Miami Heat in Game 2 of the NBA Finals in October. Overlooked James’ gripping time as Irving focused on his basketball future.
James said he was used to distractions when his teams near the championship. A racial epithet was sprayed—painted at the gate of his L.A. Home on the eve of the 2017 playoffs, for example—remarks Irving’s were imminent.
Twitter videos responding to the false narratives
James was focusing on his time with Irving in Cleveland. Smiling as he remembered the Cavs because Irving was too dominant in the video games that Bryce played. Irving has not earned a vote for MVP. Let alone held the award since he was traded to the Boston Celtics in 2017. Hampered by injuries, he played nine postseason games in his last three campaigns – spent with Boston and Brooklyn – after playing in 52 playoff games in his three seasons with James.
Shortly after, Irving’s comments on James went online. The high-scoring guard shared a series of Twitter videos responding to the “false narratives.” That appeared as it was perceived that he was shooting at James. I told another anecdote about Irving on the podcast. Saying that he had a hand in the athletic footwear giant designing a signature sneaker line for his former teammate.
