Popular actor Mads Mikkelsen opened up following his call to replace Jhonny Depp in Fantastic Beasts 3.Depp, who starred as a villain in the first two films, quit. The series last month after losing his libel case against the English publication The Sun.
It was alleged that Jhonny Depp was a “wife-beater” of ex-wife Amber Heard. However, Depp filmed just one scene of the film. He is already set to earn all his eight-figure paycheck in compliance with his contract terms. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Hannibal Star said it was “tricky” to implement what Depp had in the previous movies, adding that he would continue to retain the character while “making it my own”

No, this is a tricky part of it. We’re still working on that. There’s got to be a bridge between what Johnny has done and what I’m going to do. Around the same time, I would make it my own, too. But we also need to find a few links [to the previous version of the character] and some bridges so that it doesn’t completely detach from what has already been masterfully achieved.”
As far as the film itself is concerned, Mikkelsen expressed his excitement at the new job and extended his good wishes to Depp. It’s a shock, too, that it came after what happened, which is just super sad. I wish [Depp and Heard] all the best. These are unfortunate circumstances. I hope they’ll both be back in the saddle again really soon.”
Speaking to Insider, Thompson explained how she learned that Johny Depp’s Edward was critical to the disabled community. The realization that he gave “confidence and comfort and clarity” to so many people has brought her tears. Those who have a visual difference are often victims of cruelty, and it was a “beautiful feeling” for Thompson to have been some support. “It was one of the great joys of having contributed to the culture.
