Mandalorian Season 2
Season One of the show wrapped up in December. Since then, we have seen small bits of news, photos, and casting news coming out about the next season. There are rumours that Star Wars fans are getting another major character to be excited about. It will make things interesting for Mando and Baby Yoda. The previous season of The Mandalorian set up some exciting plots for the next season. However, we only have a few details on The Mandalorian season 2.
Disney reveals in February 2020 earnings call that The Mandalorian season 2 will release in October 2020. However, we still don’t have a specific date yet.
But there are rumours that it will be put to release just in between Marvel shows The Falcon and the Winter Soldier which releases in August and Wandavision in December. During the same time, Iger teased that more Mandalorian is coming after season 2.
Favreau confirms a press conference attended by Cinemablend earlier this year. He says that filming for the second season is already in process as of fall 2019.
SlashFilm reports that Rosario Dawson is joining The Mandalorian, as a live version of Ahsoka Tano. Anakin Skywalker is only seen before as an animated character in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels. Now he might make a real appearance in this show.
Disney also confirms that Michael Biehn boards the season 2 cast as a hunter from Mando’s past. Finally, comedian Bill Burr will return as Mayfield, the thief who betrays Mando during the prison ship heist.
The Mandalorian newbies will now join the series from season 1, led by Pedro Pascal as The Mandalorian. Also, Gina Carano returns as former shock trooper Cara Dunne and Giancarlo Esposito come up as Moff Gideon.
As for now, we have no official synopsis regarding the plot of The Mandalorian season 2. But the season 1 sets up some open scenarios. Season 1 concludes with Din Djarin setting off with The Child to find its homeworld.
It hopefully discovers the mysterious, tiny green species that it and Yoda belong to. This can set the stage for more Force wielders and even Jedi to make an appearance in Season 2.
Meanwhile, Greef and Cara stick around on Nevarro. On the contrary, Greef would like Cara to be his enforcer within the Guild. We know that Moff Gideon survives his TIE Fighter crash at the hands of Din and is packing a deadly Darksaber. However, this can make things very hairy for Greef and Cara.
Fans also hope to get some backstory as to how Gideon got his hands on one. The Mandalorian clan leader Emily Swallow’s the Armorer falsifies Din’s armour. It seems to have survived the Imperial attack at the end of season 1.
The Mandalorian Season 2 Pushes Us Towards Star Wars Episode VII
It is worth to keep in mind that The Mandalorian season 2 shall push us further towards the Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. However, this is purely speculative.
