Mulan: Is Going To Set In Motion At Walt Disney Studios!


Major Motion Pictures Are Getting Pushed In Light Of Theatre ClosuresΒ 

The concerns about the coronavirus continue to overturn the entertainment industry. Hence, every major studio pushes the U.S. releases of its films. These films are supposed to come out in the coming months. Also, Mulan joins the list.

The 25th instalment in the James Bond franchise, No Time to Die, is the first title to announce a significant release push. Disney’s Mulan, Universal’sΒ Fast 9Β and Marvel’sΒ Black Widow now follow suit.


Disney postpones the release of its profoundly foreseen live-action movie to March 27. The studio now plans the release on July 24. The director Niki Caro posts on her personal Instagram about the release date push.

The movie is a live-action adaptationΒ ofΒ Disney‘s 1998 animation film of the same name. The film stars Liu YifeiΒ in theΒ title role. Additionally, it includes Donnie Yen,Β Jason Scott Lee,Β Yoson An,Β Gong Li, andΒ Jet LiΒ in supporting roles.

She wrote saying they are so excited to share this film with the world. But due to the current circumstances in the world, there is a need to postpone the worldwide release of Mulan. Mulan, the release to be pushed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Mulan Did Not Yet Have A Chinese Release Date

However, the U.S. government did not close all the theatres because of the coronavirus. There is growing concern that some cinemas may go dark in areas where cases of COVID-19 are multiplying. In such places, the business will automatically slow down.

That is in addition to the ongoing blackout on moviegoing in China. However, the movie did not have a Chinese release date yet.

Release Date

The movie will now open on July 24, which is four months after the film was initially set to begin. The move suggests that Disney believes people will be going back to the theatres by mid-July to watch the big blockbusters.
