Naya Rivera was an American actress famous for her role in TV series Glee. She is also a model and a singer. As a four-year-old, she was part of a CBS series called The Royal Family. As a teenager, she did some guest appearances and small roles. She was also seen in commercials. However, her career took off when she played the character of Santana Lopez on the TV series Glee. The show ran from 2009 till 2015. In 2013, she released a single called Sorry after Columbia Records signed her as a solo artist. The song also featured rapper, Big Sean.
Naya Rivera Missing
On 8 July 2020, Naya Rivera was declared missing. She had gone for boating with her son at Lake Piru, near Santa Clarita, California. However, only her son was found inside the boat, and his mother was nowhere to be found. The police launched a Search and Rescue operation. However, the effort was a failure, and they could not find Naya. They presumed her to be dead, and soon the police launched a Search and Recovery operation. The police used everything from side-scanning sonar, divers, sniffer dogs, helicopters, and remote-operated submarine vehicles equipped with cameras.
Naya Rivera Dead
Naya’s body was finally recovered from the lake on 13 July 2020. The police have confirmed that the body found was of Naya. Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub spoke to the media about the case. He said, “We are confident the body we found is that of Naya Rivera, there is no indication of foul play or that this was a suicide.”
How Did Naya Rivera Die
The police have come up with a theory for her death. The basic cause of her death is drowning. Ayub said, “There are a lot of currents on the lake that appear typically in the afternoon. We believe it was mid-afternoon when she disappeared, the idea being that the boat started drifting, it was unanchored and that she mustered enough energy to get her son back onto the boat, but not enough to save herself.” Many actors from the entertainment industry have expressed their grief on the death of Naya.
