New Reports Suggest That Magnetic Fields Of Same Intensity As A Black Hole Can Be Created On Earth: New researches have suggested that magnetic fields found in black holes can be recreated on the earth. To get a better view, you should know that an MRI magnetic fields are around 1 Tesla, i.e., 10,000 Gauss.
The reports claim that one can produce a magnetic field found in neutron stars and black holes. It would be approx 1 million Tesla field.
The Strongest Magnetic Field (1,200 Tesla) Till Now Was Created In An Experiment 2 Years Ago
Live Science experimented in 2018. A magnetic field of 1,200 Tesla was created into it. No experiment till now has made such a strong magnetic field till now.
In their paper, a research team took the task to find what happens when hollow tubes are ejected with ultra-intense laser pulses. Also, the tubes were kept of only a few microns. It would escalate the energy into electrons trapped in the tube wall. Some of them will eventually jump into the hollow cavity.
Laser System & Enormous Power Is Needed To Create A Magnetic Field Of The Same Intensity As A Black Hole
Consequently, one could observe the implosion of the hollow tube. After the tubes implosion, the interaction of the ultra-hot electrons in the vacuum created leads to the flow of electric current. This charge ultimately led to the formation of a magnetic field.
So, to build a magnetic field of the same intensity as a black hole, a laser system of a pulse energy 0.1 to 1 kilojoule is required. The total power should be around 10 to 100 petawatts.
However, even if a similar magnetic field to a black hole is created here, it will fade after just ten nanoseconds. It will not be of much use to build a way for modern physics experiments.
