Nicole Kidman Confirms Big Little Lies Season 3
It is produced by writer Liane Moriarty. The first season of the show premiered in 2017. It was based on a novel of the same name by Moriarty. 2019 saw the second season coming out.
Kidman, 53, starred alongside the likes of Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, and Zoe Kravitz in the David E Kelley-created series.
“There’s a story being concocted. Liane Moriarty is working on a book. Our group of women all want to do it. It’s more the kernel of ideas that just need to be solidified,” the actor said.
Kidman told Marie Claire Australia earlier this month that the manufacturers had come up with a ‘very good idea’ for season three.
“Reese and I talk or text once a week. She’s just moved back to Nashville and we’re really close. We all just want to work together again. I texted Zoe and Laura and they’re in. David and Liane have a really good idea for it,” she had said.
Witherspoon and Kidman, both of whom are the series’ executive producers. They are not the only stars involved in a possible third season.
“I texted Zoë [Kravitz] and Laura [Dern] and they’re in,” Kidman added. “[Writers] David [E. Kelley] and Liane have a really good idea for it. Watch this space!”
Kidman Talked About Season 3 In January
When Kidman spoke with ET back in January at the 2020 Producers Guild Awards about the prospect of a season 3. She was less encouraging, saying
“It’s certainly more of a dream than it is a reality. Sorry to say, but maybe one day.”
She went on to clarify, adding, “We all want to do it, we would love to do it, and we’re unbelievably grateful that people want it to happen.”
After the conclusion of the second season of the show, Kidman continued to work with the “Big Little Lies” creative team. Kelly produces and writes Kidman ‘s latest HBO project- “The Undoing.” While her forthcoming Hulu limited series” Nine Perfect Strangers “is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Moriarty. An Emmy-winning critic was a darling of the first season of “Big Little Lies.”
But the second run of the show became more controversial. It made headlines for behind-the-scenes conflicts between Kelly and producer Andrea Arnold.
In Summer 2019, HBO President Casey Bloys told “Big Little Lies” fans to “never say never” about a possible third season, although he added “Big Little Lies”
“To me, there’s no obvious place to go. I would certainly be open to it because I love working with all of them.”
Kidman is currently starring in the HBO “The Undoing” miniseries, which premiered on October 25.
In ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’, a miniseries from Hulu that reunites her with Kelley and Moriarty, the Hollywood star will also be seen.
