Oneplus 8 And 8 Pro:Release Date, Specifications And Colors

Release Date

Oneplus recently announced that they will unveil the Oneplus 8 and 8 Pro through an online event on April 14th. Known for selling amazing phones with premium hardware at affordable prices, Oneplus has been a hit ever since it started.

There has been a lot of talk and tons of leaks when it comes to this exciting line up of smartphones. From a completely new colour to high refresh rates, to even wireless charging, the new line-up has caught everyone’s eye before even releasing.

Both the Oneplus 8 and 8 pro have a punch-hole selfie camera and a vertical setup of cameras in the middle on the back.

Oneplus 8 Pro

This is the best that Oneplus is offering this year. With a rumoured 120 Hz refresh rate, a 6.7-inch fluid AMOLED display, a decent battery size of 4510 mah and a quad-camera setup, this is a phone that can arguably be the best phone of 2020. With what is a first for Oneplus, the 8 Pro comes with an IP68 rating. Another first is wireless charging. The 8 Pro is rumoured to support 30T wireless charging. With the fastest chip right now, the snapdragon 865 and 8 GB ram, you’ll experience the smoothest experience from a smartphone.

The camera is a 48 MP + 48 MP + 8 MP + 5 MP set up with leaks suggesting a primary and ultra-wide 48 MP lens, a telephoto camera and a rumoured ToF sensor.

The sibling of the 8 pro has cut corners here and there but is still a pretty amazing package altogether. With a slightly smaller battery of 4300 mah, a triple camera setup with 48 MP + 16 MP + 2 MP setup placed vertically on the back. The 8 is also rumoured to only have 90HZ refresh rate. There is little but noticeable difference between the 8 and 8 pro.

Both the 8 and 8 pro have a 16 MP selfie camera. There is no wireless charging and no IP rating on the Oneplus 8 as it bumps up the cost.

Pricing

The price of the phones will take another hike as both phones support 5G. “We’ve always had a position in creating the best product possible at the best price point,” said Lau in an interview earlier this month. “The new technology does add costs so costs have risen in comparison to 4G products.”. The 8 is rumoured to be around 39999 INR. The 8 pro might be around 50000 INR.

Colours

Thanks to a leak from Winfuture, we have an idea of the exciting colour options for the Oneplus 8 and 8 pro. Interstellar Glow, Glacial glow and onyx black are the names of the 3 colours. All three look stunning though the first two are much more eye-catching and the third is more subtle.
