Steve Smith Admits Their Game Didnβt Go As Per The Plan Against KKR In IPL 2020
Steve Smith and his team Rajasthan succumbed to their first loss of IPL 2020 when they played against KKR. They were quite good with the ball, but the batting was below par. Steve Smith admitted that they made many mistakes and didnβt stick to the plan. However, he was optimistic about learning from the mistakes and moving ahead. He said:
βIt didn’t quite go to plan for us. That happens in T20 cricket sometimes, we have a few areas to improve on, and keep moving forward.β

RR Wanted To Put KKR Bowlers Under Pressure In Their IPL 2020 Match
Rajasthan had won the toss, and they decided to put KKRΒ batsman under the spotlight. Their idea was to put pressure on the KKR bowling as Kolkata was more successful in chasing runs. However, things backfired as Rajasthan lost their top order within no time, and the team ended up losing very badly. Steve Smith said:
βYou could go one way or another (with the toss). KKR like to chase, so we planned to put their death bowling under pressure but obviously couldn’t do that as we lost too many wickets upfront.β
Steve Smith Reveals ManyΒ Couldnβt Adapt To The Larger Stadium
The match against Punjab was played in Sharjah which is a little ground, and it is easier to hit sixes theirs. However, RR players were in the same mindset when they came out to play in the Dubai stadium. They were not quick in adjusting to a more significant ground and ended up as losers of the game. Smith said:
βFew of us still thought we were playing in Sharjah. It did (feel a lot different), the far side is a very big side and we didn’t see too many balls going there and the other side is slightly shorter. We probably didn’t adapt to the dimensions and the wicket also dropped a few catches which cost us.”

RR To Take On RCB In Their Next IPL 2020 Match
