RIVERDALE may be a massive hit across the world with its gritty take on the American teen genre but now the show in danger of being cancelled. Statistics indicate the series could potentially be delivered the chop.
The show eventually made huge waves with its gripping murder mystery. The show had continued to go strong, soon entering its fifth series. Yet could the end be in sight for this well-loved show?
Riverdale In Danger Of Cancellation
The CW’s in 2017, arrived with Riverdale am another tale of teen angst and drama. The series had a fresh take on characters from the classic Archie Comics.
According to reports, at the time of writing, Riverdale has not been cancelled. Whether or not the show will be continued for season six yet remains to be a mystery. Guess, it will be dependent on how well the fifth outing does.
Content manager at CasinoCountdown Kay Jones told Express.co.uk: “It’s surprising to see that Netflix staple series Riverdale and Starz’s Outlander face a high risk of cancellation given their large fanbases, but it just goes to show that shows often start to lose their appeal after the first few seasons despite a strong start.
“Certainly in Riverdale’s case, there’s plenty of critics online regarding the convoluted storylines and bizarre twists, while Outlander fans may be growing weary of the historical drama now that we’re over 60 episodes in.
“The fact that they both have prevalent romantic elements that are pivotal to the storylines might not help their longevity either.”
The Chances Of The Show Not getting Renewed
So, according to figures from CasinoCountdown, which has accumulated a Series Survival Scorecard. Riverdale may be among the shows most likely to be terminated.
Riverdale has almost 84 per cent chances of having the plug pulled out for the show. Also, with only 16 per cent likelihood of being continued.
The data was gathered together from various sources involve Google Trends, IMDb and SEO tool Ahrefs.
Also, other factors such as:
1.the number of award nominations and wins
2. how many seasons the show ran for
3.how many episodes
among other things, were taken into consideration.
These data points were accordingly compared with the current popular shows. In other words, shows which fell into the same genre as a barometer.
Other Shows That Might Get Their Ending Soon
The stats indicated that Netflix shows were 41 per cent more favourable to be cancelled than others.
This doesn’t indicate that other series are in the green zone. Fear The Walking Dead got an 84 per cent chances of revocation. At the same time, the BBC’s Death in Paradise backing it up with 74 per cent.
