Recently, James Stevenson, the director of Insomniac Games Community, has made a controversial statement. He said that in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the PS4 save will carry across to the PS5. However, you should be able to utilise the title’s free next-generation upgrade.

In simple words, it means that Sony hasn’t made cross-save mandatory. So, some of the developers may wish not to support this feature.

Yazuka: Like A Dragon Confirmed That The Saved Data From PS4 Will Be Lost In The Upgraded PS5 Version

James statement is in contrast to what people wanted to hear. Yakuza: Like A Dragon earlier confirmed that the upgraded PlayStation 5 version would not have the saved data from PlayStation 4.

Thus, it may affect many other new generation titles. The news that PS4 saved data won’t work on PS5 has spread. Xbox Series X was likely to bring all your old save files.

In regards to PS4 games, one will receive a free PS5 upgrade. It is different from backwards compatibility. It also includes the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Watch Dogs Legion andΒ Cyberpunk 2077.

If The Rumours Are True, A Comeback Of Single-Player Games Will Be Seen

So, if this is true, then we will see a comeback of single-player games over and over. It doesn’t matter even if we are stuck in the middle of a lengthy campaign.

The best example of the case got depicted in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It was officially released on PS4 just two days ago the PS5 launch in the US.

James Stevenson Isn’t Clarified Yet.

We must remember that this claim is still not verified. But Yakuza: Like A Dragon has made its point clear. For that particular game, one cannot do anything.

Let us not lose hope and believe that Sony will come up with a brand new feature which will be able to convert the PS4 save into PS5 as this can cause real trouble for the gamers.
