Ryan Lochte Not In Talking Terms With Mom!
Ryan Lochte Has Not Spoken To Mom For Years! Check Out Why!: In a recent interview with In Depth with Graham Bensinger, the 36-year-old Olympian opened up revealing that his relationship with his mother isn’t what it once was.
Ryan states that the divorce of his parents contributed towards the feelings for his mother.
When Ryan Lochte revealed that he and then-fiance Kayla Rae Reid were expecting a boy, however, their relationship soured.
“At one point, we were all against someone, and then later on in life, it changed,” he says. “When it happened, it was — we were all on my mom’s side. But then later on in life, when I told her that she was going to be a grandma, and I’m having a kid she said some very, very hurtful things that kind of ended our relationship, me and her.”
Ryan didn’t disclose the real stuff that his mom said to him, but he said, “She said just a few stuff to my wife and me, but I mean I can get over it, but I want her to apologize. And she said she was never going to apologize.’
On June 8 2017, Lochte and Reid welcomed their first child, son Caiden Zane. In a civil wedding in January 2018, and later a lavish wedding for friends and family the following September, the couple then tied the knot. On June 17, 2019, the couple welcomed their second infant, daughter Liv Rae.
He and Kayla’s wife have two children together-Caiden, Liv, 3, and Liv, 15. Lochte elaborated that his mother feels she has nothing to say sorry for because of their falling out, “I haven’t spoken to her in years.”
Ryan Found Solace In His Own Family
However, the estrangement from his mom led Lochte to develop a closer relationship with his dad.
He clarified that he and his father are “closer than we have ever been,” and that he got bonded to Natalie, the new wife of his father.
“How she treats me, my family, my dad, she’s the best,” the swimmer said of his step-mother. He added that “I call her mum because she’s my mother,” he wouldn’t even call her his step-mom any more.
Lochte said he did not let it affect his life. It didn’t kill joy with his own caring family, despite the loss of his connexion to his mother.
I’m happy right now with my family,” Lochte shared. “My job is to protect my family. And I will do anything, no matter what, to protect my family.”
Lochte lost his mother’s love, but the love for his dad and his own family was all it matters now!
