Why Is Samsung Killing It S-Voice Assistant?
The advancement of technology is a fast one. Just as technology advances, higher is the competition that comes along with it. In the current scenario, it is safe to say that this competition has dialed down between major players of the game, Google Assistant, Google Echo, Amazon Alexa and Siri that are still out there.
This has drastically hampered the position of other competitors leaving them challenged to a greater extent. Launched in 2012, the S-Voice assistant came along with many features. Setting Reminders and making calls were the two majors but the assistant was unable to answer user’s questions, unlike its other counterparts.
The launch of Bixby and the very recent Bixby 2.0 is another reason. Bixby comes along with several additional benefits compared to the S Voice assistant. Making phone calls and web searches by speaking only a few words, the Bixby is AI-driven and conversational. This makes it in line with Google Assistant which the S-Voice failed at.
Due to its very basic functionality, the S-Voice failed at gathering positive reviews from the users. People tried to find several ways to shut down the voice assistant. People will remain unaffected by the closure of S-Voice. Users from around the globe have claimed this move by Samsung as “Too Late”.
The Samsung smartwatch, Gear S3, and Gear Sport will receive the newly launched Bixby in place of S-Voice. Whereas the rest will have to make do without the S-Voice.
