Second Stimulus Check: HOPE FOR AMERICANS
Second Stimulus Check: Amid the pandemic situation coupled with recession and unemployment, millions of Americans are struggling and looking for financial support. On 27th March, President Donald Trump signed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act.
It is the largest emergency relief bill in American History. The bill will help the people and the economy to cope up with the effects of the Covid-19 situation.
The First stimulus payment was clear. The second stimulus check was in the news for the delay and the negotiations to start again in September after the Senate session break.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
The talks on the relief package were stalled on 7th August that has created doubts on the payment of the package. There is a possible delay as the negotiators have to reach an agreement on the coronavirus relief bill. It would need to be pass to the House, the Senate, and then duly signed by President Donald Trump.
Democrats initially proposed a $3.4 trillion stimulus package. The parties support the $1,200 stimulus payments, a part of the original proposal for the eligible Americans.
But there are several outstanding issues that need to be resolved. It was reported that the President is looking up to sign something around the $1.3 trillion marks.A package that costs below $2.2 trillion will not be sufficient to meet the requirements of the families, and the people affected adversely.
The House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows said that it was critical to find a solution as soon as possible.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said that she hoped Republicans would accept the lower price to save the lives of the American people. The lack of agreement would delay the second wave of payments until October. The economy and the people are in dire need of the second stimulus check. There has been an increase in the people filing for unemployment.
The possibility to get the payment early seems minimal as there is an election in November. We all have to wait and watch when the stimulus payment is made.
As the month has moved from August to September, it seems unlikely the parties will agree.
