Snapchat Redesigns App: At the virtual Snap Partner Summit, Snapchat revealing some significant changes in the app. The navigation system in the app is being considered. With a new action bar at the bottom of the applets, you access into Snap Map with a single tap.
A new banner “Happening Now” also introduced to users only in the USA. It also has a curated selection of various stories in the top section of the Discover tab. However, Snap Map having some new features to give a good competition to Google Maps.
The ‘Action Bar’
Snapchat testing some new features for the app for a long time now, but they published it only this year. While Snap is always a bit obscure for new users, the redesign greatly simplified it. The redesign has the old navigation bar with five different tabs at the bottom. It is named as ‘Action Bar’ as it will contextually change based on what you are doing at that particular time. Simply it is the most popular product from Snap just in one tap.
The ‘Snap Map’
The Snap Map will help a user to share their live locations with their ‘Snap Fam’. It also helps to let you know about the current situation of many popular places. Over 200 million people use Snap Map every month. So, the company added thousands of local business addresses around the globe. Thus small local parties can buy an add to promote their business on Snapchat. So, people can know what’s best in their surroundings.
The ‘Happening Now’ Banner
The Happening Now banner is based on updated stories on trending news about politics, sports, entertainment etc. In the Discover Tab, we see many news organizations posting their stories. But Happening Now will show us content from BuzzFeed, ESPN, Washington Post, E! News, etc. This will also have categories like local, world, politics, sports, etc. But this feature is only available for the US right now. However, it will spread out to other countries as well.
