The Conjuring 3 Directed by James Wan, the first part of the inaugural Conjuring franchise released in 2013. Written by Chad Hayes and Carey W. Hayes, the American horror movie was quick in racking up the fans. The second part of the franchise, The Conjuring 2, released in 2016 and was produced jointly by the New Line Cinema and The Saffron Company.
Just like its predecessor, the second installment was nothing short on chills and thrills—the entire franchise based around the life of occult investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren. The paranormal investigators and authors are associated with prominent cases of haunting. James Wan has brought two of their case files on the screen so far.
And the American supernatural franchise is all set to get its third installment in 2020.
The third movie in the series is titled: The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It.
However, James Wan will be producing it and NOT directing!
When Will The Conjuring 3 Release?
Warner Bros has officially set the release date. The Conjuring 3 will release in theatres on 11th Septemeber 2020. However, in the wake of the chaos caused by the pandemic, it can be delayed. But NO official confirmation regarding a delay or postpone has been made. If things go well, we can expect The Conjuring 3 to stick to its proposed schedule.
What Will Be The Storyline?
As we mentioned earlier, The Conjuring universe based on the case files of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. The first part of the franchise took the Warrens to help the Perron family, who haunted. In the second installment, the Warren’s traveled to England, where a woman and her children witness strange, paranormal events in their house. This is where Valak (The Nun) introduced. Similar to the previous two films, the third will also be a real-life incident. However, this time, the haunting won’t feature a haunted house.
Now the third part in the horror universe will showcase the real-life trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson in 1981. Johnson is a guy on trial facing murder charges. However, in his lawsuit, he argued that he was under demonic possession when he committed the murder. It was the first time in American history when someone put on trial, and they blamed it on the devil. As a result, Ed and Lorraine are brought in to prove his cases and prove that he is an innocent man. Although, the last two Conjuring movies have all been about the haunted house. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how the Warrens prove that demons exist in the upcoming movie.
The Trial Of Arne Cheyenne Johnson
The Trial Of Arne Cheyenne Johnson is also known as the ‘Devil Made Me Do It’ Case. This is the first known court case in the U.S, where the defense sought to prove innocence upon the defendant’s claim of demonic possession.
