We’ve had some crazy moments in Hip Hop this year. But the prospect of 50 Cent and The Game teaming up with Verzuz is colossal. The two G-Unit-turned-enemy mates have been at odds for some time, but lately. Fif said he would imagine sitting down with Game as they relived their best hits for fans. The Power Mogul had one stipulation: The Game did not play any tracks that contained 50 Cent’s vocals.
The Game says he’s willing to walk into the Verzuz ring, but he’s only willing to do so if his rival is 50 cents.
The West Coast rapper clarified his stance during an interview with the LA Leakers on Tuesday. That there were no other rappers with whom he would even consider going head-to-head. It points to their decades-long past, which has been turbulent, and their respective contributions to rap.
“You can’t talk about Fif and hip-hop without somebody bring up Game. And you definitely can’t say Game without somebody saying, ‘But, oh, 50 wrote all your hits.
You ain’t shit without 50,” he stated.
He went on to equate himself to a lot of other heavyweight raps: “As I said, there’s no one who can do Verzuz with [Lil] Wayne or Verzuz with Drake unless they’re in there with each other… there’s no one else for me. There’s no one else but 50. It’s got to be that, and that’s what it is. Yeah, I’m not sure we’re going to do it, but I’m certainly down to be in a space with him if we do.
Shortly after the interview, Game Manager Wack 100 posted an Instagram post that he was attempting to set up a fight after the two rappers had been offered the opportunity to “shake hands” on two occasions. The Game touched on these experiences when talking to the LA Leakers, insisting that they had a love-hate friendship.
