The Last Of Us 2 Is Refunding Digital Pre-Orders:

The Last Of Us 2 is in delay indefinitely due to logistical issues caused by the COVID-19 (coronavirus) crisis. Players who bought this game on the PlayStation Store are getting their funds back in return.

Announcement Of The New Release Date:

There is no announcement regarding the new release date. The listing is being taken down from the PlayStation Store.

Those people with digital pre-orders have no option but to accept the refund. Some people put a pre-order through a third-party seller. However, the refund doesn’t apply to them.

PlayStation’s Support Website:

A note on theΒ PlayStation support websiteΒ says, “The Last of Us Part II and Iron Man VR is under delay. So, all-digital pre-order consumers will automatically receive a refund. Hence please check your email for more details.”

The Last of Us Part II delayed due to coronavirus pandemic, will ...

Reason Behind The Delay:

Most ofΒ the games are under a delay due to coronavirus. But The Last Of Us 2 is almost close to completion. Sony and Naughty Dog point to “logistic issues,” thus preventing the game’s launch from fulfilling people’s expectations.

Refund Of Pre-Orders:

The pre-orders are under refund because the PlayStation Store does not allow for pre-ordering games that do not have set dates. They will likely be available again once the new dates are put forward.

Refunds are also being put out for Marvel’s Iron Man VR. It is an upcoming PSVR game that is also likewise being indefinitely under delay by the crisis.

However, people also have a feeling it will have reintroduction as a PS5 title. Hence the refunds and game pulled off from the store.

Sony’s Tweet:

Sony gave an announcement last week that it is delaying the launch of The Last of Us 2. Β It says in a tweet that the global crisis due to the coronavirus is preventing them from providing the launch experience their players deserve.

Developer Naughty Dog issues its statement on Twitter as well. In it, the studio’s specifications say that while it’s in the final stretches of development, there are logistical issues. These issues will prevent it from ensuring the best experience, including a simultaneous global launch.
