The Vampire Diaries is a popular American supernatural teen TV series on The CW. This show was based on a book series by L.J Smith of the same name. The show is the most-watched series on the network and has over 3.60 million viewers.
Nina Dobrev was one of the main characters of the TV series ‘The Vampire Diaries’. She plays the role named Elena Gilbert. From being a sweet innocent teenager to a manipulative vampire, a doppelganger, Nina played various characters in the show. But in 2015, right after the 6th season, Nina dumped the character, Elena.
Many presumed that Nina’s break up with her co-star Ian Samarholder is the reason for her leaving. But that remains a false one as they are good friends till this date. Later in the interviews, she disclosed her reason for leaving the show.

Nina told – “That was the plan from the get-go” in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. She also added, she has a fear of not getting any job after the show. So, she continued working hard to overcome it. But eventually she wanted to feel it and step forward in her career.
Nina dumped the role as she has other reasons. She don’t want to play the character of a teenager anymore. As she wants to play some edgy, adult characters. Also she looks forward to working with great filmmakers, telling great stories to the audience.

After The Vampire Diaries, Nina take some guest appearances and roles in some movies. She appeared in the films “Robot Chicken” and “Workaholics” as a guest character. And also have a rigid role in films like “Let’s Be Cops” and “XXX: The Return of Xander cage”.
With a variety of roles in different movies, Nina’s decision is fruitful to her. The risky move gives her the time to cherish her hobby to travel. And allows moving forward without fear. We hope to see her in dynamic characters in great shows and movies in the future.
