Netflix has finally sent us an official first look at the show’s second season After months of silence from the marketing team of The Witcher. The photo was first shown on Henry Cavill‘s Instagram page. He showed Geralt’s beautiful new armour suit. The pictures of Cavill were accompanied by an official unveiling of the latest Ciri costume by Freya Allan. Eventually by Yennefer by Anya Chalotra.

In addition to giving us a first look at the work of Lucinda Wright the new costume designer of season two, these pictures also hint at the storeys to come. Ciri is wearing a new outfit in the photos and seems to be practising with a sword. At the same time, Yennefer appears to have been caught. The same week, Netflix also released the official synopsis of season two, as first stated by Deadline.

β€œConvinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans, and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”

A Possible Spinoff

Two spinoffs are already announced. The first is an animated film starring Geralt’s mentor Vesemir, named Nightmare of the Wolf. It is scheduled to be released before season two. The second spinoff, Blood Origin, is a short live-action series set hundreds of years. Netflix hopes to star Jason Momoa of Aquaman in the lead role.Β  Industry insider Daniel Richtman announced that Netflix is planning another spinoff film. This time it will focus on mages and sorceresses. Everyone was shocked by hearing it.

Richtman is a reliable source, which has uncovered a casting sheet for season twoβ€”later confirming our earlier rumour that Kristofer Hivju, an alum of Game of Thrones, is joining the cast. The spinoff is considered and not verified. It means it is very likely that before making any decision. Netflix will wait to see how the other spinoffs do.

What sorceresses and mages could appear in such a spinoff? Fans expect to see the leading role of LGBT sorceress Philippa Eilheart as she is suspiciously absent from the casting reveals and leaks of season two of The Witcher.
