Trump Proposes A New Deal Involving A Partnership Between TikTok, Oracle And Walmart: On Saturday, President Donald Trump suggested a deal. He wanted a partnership between Oracle and Walmart and the famous video sharing app Tiktok.
Trump has directly targeted TikTok for secretly collecting data of its users. He has also said in his statement that it posed a threat to national security.
The Deal Comes After Commerce Department Imposed Restrictions
As the tension between the U.S. and Beijing escalates, Trump comes with a deal. However, the announcement came after the Commerce Department imposed restrictions on the app. For instance, it would limit the app’s use to only a specific section of people.
Donald Trump Said That The Deal Would Provide Employment To 25,000 People If It Is Finalised
Trump further mentioned that if the deal got progressed, a new company in Texas would get created. “I have given the deal my blessing. If they get it done, that’s great. If they don’t, that’s OK too,” said the U.S. president.
This new company got intended to provide jobs to 25,00 people. It would also contribute $5 billion to a fund devoted to educations of Americans. “That’s their contribution that I’ve been asking for,” said Trump.
Thie Deal Urges TikTok To Sell All American Users Data To The U.S. Company
This deal will provide Oracle with the data of all U.S. users using TikTok so that national security criterion got fulfilled. TikTok commented that they were pleased after hearing Trump’s proposal. It further said that it would fix the security concerns raised by the U.S. It will settle the issue around the future use of TikTok by U.S. users.
The Partnership Deal Isn’t Final Yet.
The U.S. Treasury Department said that the documentations and conditions still aren’t approved by the committee. The deal with TikTik isn’t finalised yet.
Trump has decided to disable TikTok’s use if it does not want to sell the U.S. operations. The U.S. President has also targeted other Chinese apps like WeChat. TikTok has around 100 million users from the U.S.
China officials have blamed Trump and called him a bully. They urged Trump to stop such kind of behaviour and that they might take measures to protect Chinese companies.
