Angelina Jolie Contributes To Yemen
Yemen is facing a crisis for some time now, and when these 6-year-olds learned about their condition, they decided to do something.
In July, these two children, Ayaan Moosa and Mikaeel Ishaa from east London set up a lemonade stand to raise money for their charity.
When the Maleficent actress came to know about their excellent charity work, she donated to their cause.
Ayaan’s father, 37-year-old Shakil Moosa, told Jolie to contact their family through an agent three weeks ago and make a donation. The donation was transferred this weekend.
Along with the donation, Jolie sent a letter to the children, in which she thanked them for their efforts and apologized for not being there in person to buy their lemonade.
The Lemonade Stand
The children shred her letter on Instagram, along with a video. In that video, they thanked the actress. They said: “Hi Angelina, I’m Ayaan. And I’m Mikaeel. And we’re the LemonAid boys. We just wanted to say thank you for donating to our cause.”
They even added that the next time the actress visits London, they would be more than happy to sell her a glass of lemonade.
In an interview, Moosa’s father said: “She’s been so amazing. It’s surreal — she’s not just a lucky star, you’re talking about one of the top names on the planet, so it’s a bit overwhelming. She’s phenomenal.”
With help from friends and families, the children have raised a total of $90,944 and hope to raise more.
