US Customs and Border Protection Seize One Plus Buds As Fake Apple Airpods
Everyone understands that Apple and One Plus are two big players in the smartphone brand. The two companies have extended this competition to other aspects of technological products. However, people witnessed a new and different level of rivalry between the two companies.
The US Customs and Border Protection seized One Plus Buds thinking that buds were some fake versions of Apple Airpods. Without realizing that the product is a genuine one from a rival company, it caught hold of the work as a duplicate of Apple Airpods.
US Customs and Border Protection Tweet About Their Apple-OnePlus Mix Up
The mistake from the US Customs and Border Protection came into light when they decided to tweet about it. They thought they had done a great job by seizing fake Airpods. However, from the images released in the tweet very clearly show that the seized goods are One Plus Buds and not Apple Airpods. The US Customs and Border Protection tweeted:
“CBP officers at JFK Airport recently seized 2,000 counterfeit Apple AirPods from Hong Kong, valued at $398K had they been genuine.”
US Customs and Border Protection Call The Apple-One Plus Mishap A Success
The US Customs and Border Protection thinks that they have carried a severe mission successfully and still don’t realize that the goods seized are from One Plus and not from Apple. The photos clearly say One Plus Buds, but the customs are adamantly sticking on to Apple. Troy Miller, Director of CBP’s New York Field Operations, said:
“CBP Officers are protecting the American public from various dangers on a daily basis. The interception of these counterfeit earbuds is a direct reflection of the vigilance and commitment to mission success by our CBP Officers daily.”
