Violet Evergarden Season 2 :Violet Evergarden is a Japanese novel series. Kana Akatsuki penned it, and Akiko Takase illustrated it. It is a 13-episode anime television series. The series aired between January and April 2018 under the adaptation of Kyoto Animation.

The story revolves around Auto Memory Dolls. A scientist named Dr Orland initially appoints them to assist his blind wife Mollie in writing her novels. Later many other people hire them for their services. The story follows Violet Evergarden’s journey of coming back into society after the war is over.

Because of its vast and global fan base, Netflix dubs it in English. There are also plans to make a movie taking the series as a base.

Season 1 ended with about 13 episodes in 2018. However, the first season grabs the attention of many fans from all over the globe. Since then, the fans have been waiting for the second season to come up.

The Season 2 of Violet Evergarden has plans to release in January 2020. But due to some reasons, the release got delayed. However, there are expectations that it may release by 2020 end or 2021.


As for now, there is no official confirmation regarding the release of the series. But there are rumours regarding the release of the trailer for Season 2. Let’s hope it to happen soon.

Yui Ishikawa gives the voice over to the Japanese version of the series. However,Β Erika Harlacher gives for the English version. Violet is the main character of the series. She is a ghostwriter.

However, there are rumours that the cast of the first season will reappear in the second one too. Some of them include Claudia Hodgins, Gilbert, Cattleya Baudelaire who appear many times in Season 1. It may also include a few others.

The Storyline

A navy officer Dietfried Bougainvillea finds her as an abandoned and nameless child. Later, Dietfried brings Violet home and gives her to his brother Gilbert. Gilbert instead treats her as a human, teaches her how to speak, read, and write. He even names her Violet.

She loses both her arms trying to save Gilbert in the battle. After the war gets over, she replaces her arms with metallic prosthetics. In addition to that, she decides to become an Auto Memory Doll to learn the meaning of the words “I love you”. Those are the last words from Gilbert to her.

That’s how season 1 ends with the final words of Gilbert. So, the second season may portray the life of Violet after the war. It may also show how she keeps trying to find the meaning of life out to go back to how things used to be before the war.
